First of all, I would like to say hello to all of you, my students of English. You are the reason for this blog to exist. I created it a long time ago with the aim of opening an online site to meet and share knowledge, experiences, ideas and from which we all could benefit, always with English as the main engine.

I think it has been working quite well since the day it started and I hope there are still many more years to come.

WRITING Unit 5 for Year 4 ESO

Hi there, lads!

First of all, sorry for the delay. I have been quite busy going here and there to meet some people I can only see these days and I could not find the time to do it.

However, here you are the post so now you can start uploading your compositions about shopping, advertising and everything related to CONSUMERISM.

As I told you in class, you can approach the topic from many different points of view, as long as you write about the way products go from the companies which manufacture them to your houses.

Remember there are some expressions that must be part of your writing and which are used to STATE OPINIONS.

Furthermore, it would be great if you could include some sentences in the Passive Voice to make clear that you know how to use it.

Unit 5 Writing (Year 1 Bach, morning shift) (OBLIGATORY)

Hi there,

here you are the post for you to write your narrative following the example on page 70 and the instructions at the bottom of page 71 in green.

Remember that the topic we are dealing with is RELATIONSHIPS and that it must be the main issue to write about.

Also, do not forget the Time Expressions and Connectors of Sequence which you MUST use in order to make the order of events clearer for anyone reading it.

Since you will write about one or more relationships and the way they have changed through the years, you will have to use different verb tenses in the past as well as some others in the present and maybe some to predict what that relationship will be like in the future.

I am sure you will do a good job. I look forward to reading them all.

I have recently moved to O Barco from a place near the sea in Galicia because the company I work for opened new premises here in November 2018. When I arrived, I tried to focus on my job and maybe I did not pay enough attention to my social life...you know...making new friends. In the beginning it was ok because I was so busy at work that I only wanted to rest during my free time but now, after some months of loneliness...I'm starting to realise that I need somebody to do things when I am free. What can I do? Could you suggest some ideas?

Hello there,

here you are the post for you to write a text about a trip that you made in the past. Although the example on page 24 of your students' book has A DISAPPOINTING TRIP as its title, your story does not have to include a disappointing experience.

TIP: Make sure you read the sample you can find on page 24 and also read the two boxes on page 25 which contain the steps and the useful expressions that you may need for a good text.
